Men's Cairn Winter Boot is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent boot... but one terrible flaw... AVOID! My work consists of walking around outdoors for 4-6 hours per day (without a break, or stopping, or warm-ups). I have poor circulation in fingers & toes due freezing them multiple times during my youth and having a light body mass. It is very difficult to find a boot that "does it all" ... lightweight enough for all the walking, waterproof to deal with 6 hours of snow/slush/rain, a soft grippy sole for ice, and warm enough to deal with average Canadian winter temperatures (-10 to -25). Most boots fall short in at least one of those categories... it's a compromise. These boots however, were the best ones I could find (Marks, The Bay, Sportchek) that fit the criteria. Very comfortable as well, although that will vary person-to-person. BIG drawback however - the BOA lacing system. TERRIBLE. No boots or shoes should have these. As a winter sports enthusiast (snowmobiling, snowboarding, snowshoeing) I am very familiar with the system and it is a terrible choice. The crank knob WILL fail at some point...maybe a few months, maybe a year, but it will fail. Usually it fails in a way where it stays locked and you can't take the boot off without cutting the "laces" but sometimes fails in the open position as well. BOA has revised it a few times over the years, but the problem still exists. Another big drawback is the single-zone tightness. With one crank on the upper (vs 1 on upper & 1 on lower) it ends up tightening the upper part of the boot while leaving the lower portion slack and loose. Not only is this uncomfortable, but it allows snow/slush to collect in the loose fabric between the tongue & body which inevitably melts and soaks through. It is for these reasons why no experienced user would ever use BOA laced boot (unless paid to). "Speed lacing" is the best... but regular laces work too - just not as quick, durable, or easily adjustable. I could see these being fine for short periods of light duty (ie: shoveling the driveway or walking to the corner store) but if you need to wear your boots for multiple hours including light-duty work and movement - avoid them at all costs. Without the BOA, these would be one of the best winter boots in their respective size/weight category ever. Unfortunately, they have BOA. After buying them, I immediately went to a shoe repair shop and had them install some regular laces for $40 (need to rivet in the loops... regular laces won't fit through the cable guides). Sure it voids the warranty, but now I have an AWESOME pair of winter boots!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, comfortable and warm with best lace system ever! Really enjoy the Boa lace system and lifetime warranty! First use of the boot involved hiking in the outdoors in snow and the boot preformed flawlessly. Lightweight enough to feel like a shoe, but warm and comfortable to handle the onslaught of winter.Pricing is a pleasant surprise.
