Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the thing for winter cycling I bought a pair at the beginning of the winter for my bicycle commute - they've kept me comfortable through the coldest days this year (I don't think I was riding in -30 this year but pretty close - that being real temperature not wind chill). The waterproof-ness is a bit of a double-edged sword - it also means they don't breathe much, so if it's not really cold out, my hands tend to get a bit sweaty in them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, comfortable and well made I got these for plowing with my quad. Typically this involves 2 to 3 hours out in the cold and below -15 or so gloves, even heavy duty gloves, don't cut it. These mitts have large cuffs that allow them to go over top of heavy coat sleeves. I've worn them just the once but was very impressed. Time will tell how well they hold up but I have no reason to doubt their durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from serious mitt for long term outdoor exposure. I purchased a pair of these mitt's 2 years ago. I use them for winter cycling on a daily basis, shoveling snow, etc... The deer leather is a bit soft however it is highly flexible in low temperatures. May not withstand continuous abrasive use but holds up well so far. Inner lining is soft and double layered with thin plastic in the middle for water proof barrier. I have worn through the inner lining and plastic layer in one spot, the second outter layer is in tact still. Lining is velcro'd in. I purchased the large size and have enough room to keep my entire hand in the finger section to prevent cold thumbs. Your hands may sweat in these mitts. Separate mitts from liner and turn inside out to hang dry. Difficult to find in store, so you may want to call ahead or order online.
