Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these shoes I have worn this shoe for two winters in northern Manitoba. It is warm at temperatures to greater than -25C and has very good traction. It is stylish enough for casual work. I like the flexibility of being able to slip it on/off with ease, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "House Brand" skepticism...gone! Ok, so I posted the last review about being skeptical about house brands but I had not owned the mocs long enough to put them through their paces. I have now had them almost a month and put them through all sorts of situations. I have to post this follow-up review because of what I found. WARMTH: These shoes are rated to -15C. I bought the T-Max insulated insoles when I bought then and have never worn the mocs without those insoles. I have worn the mocs in -20C+ weather and, with the insoles and a midweight hiking sock, they are starting to feel like they are at their limit. DRYNESS: Yup, they have it in spades. We went through a cold, a warm, a cold, a very cold, a warm, a get the picture; typical Eastern Ontario weather. There has been snow, slush, and puddles. I have stomped through all of it without any issue. Given their design deep snow (> 5 cm) is not their forte but everything else they are great. STABILITY/TRACTION: Awesome on snow and ice. This is important for me because I have had some back problems and wiping out would be a bad thing. These mocs are rock solid on the slippery stuff. COMFORT: I had one brief, initial "adjustment" period where I developed a blister under my ankle where the top of the left moc was rubbing on my foot but that was quick to heal and go away and no issues since. I walk about 40 minutes as part of my commute every day and, on weekends, I will often walk further. These mocs are very comfortable for walking. INDOOR COMFORT and STYLE: I bought these mocs so I could have something that looked passable for work when I could not have a change of footwear. They do the job there and, when inside, they can get a little warm but not unpleasantly so. If I wear them too long indoors my feet will overheat and sweat but for brief periods (an hour or less) indoors I have had no problems. BOTTOM LINE: Loving these shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great on slippery surfaces and no wet laces to put up with I was lucky to buy my pair on sale and have been fully satisfied with them. They are as comfortable as a cozy pair of slippers, but can stand cold and wet and still feel warm and dry.. They are very easy to put on and remove without dealing with wet laces. I walk 20 minutes to work every day in BC's West Kootenays and in winter have to endure icy sidewalks and lots of slush. I don't worry any more about slipping with the Tarantula soles that have terrific grip. Once I'm at work I often forget to change into indoor shoes, they're that comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Skeptical of "house" brands now converted... I tend to shy away from in-house brands having the perception that they are inferior quality. I approached these shoes with skepticism but was resigned that the market for "snow moccasins" is thin and I needed to explore all options. I bought these on sale and purchased the T-Max insulated insoles with arch support to go in them. I have worn these shoes for just over a week and have new out in < -10C weather with them. The short; they are worth every penny and so far I am duly impressed with their quality. I have not had a chance to test them with snow and ice but they have been warm, warm, warm no matter how cold it has been outside and I can tell the tarantula grip will be very effective when I get a chance - the soles stick like glue to cold concrete and laughed at the small patches of black ice I have encountered so far. I had some reservations about the uppers and the likelihood they would cause blisters because they are so stiff but I walk 30+ minutes daily during my commute and the shoes are as comfortable as my Columbia hiking shoes. Easy on and off seals the deal for me - I won't be looking down the end of ny nose at Windriver in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great office shoes for winter weather I bought these because my usual dress shoes were being beaten up pretty bad by the snow and salt. I initially resorted to commuting in my winter boots, then change into dress shoes at work - but I soon tired of that. These snow mocs are great - light weight, insulated and they grip very well in snow and slush. They feel like trainers to wear - very comfortable. They look great with trousers and jeans. Build quality and performance are very good - same as with the other Wind River products I already have (jacket and leather gloves). I picked these up while they were on sale ($69.99). I think these are good value at this price... average value at the full price though.
