Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst money I have spent on boots I bought these boots less than a year ago and the stitching is coming undone, leather is cracking and the boot had lost all foot support and the soles are shot. I work both outdoor and indoors around water, oil, and concrete. Very disappointed as they are fairly pricey.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from What happened to the quality? I owned 6 pairs of these boots. In the past a pair would almost make it 2 years, The last 4 have all fallen apart at the toe or the stitching. I don't abuse my boots but in the last 4 years the quality has gone down. If you are looking for comfort this is the boot. If you are looking for a boot that is tough and will last...look somewhere else.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Comfy but not as great as they once were. I have owned several pairs of these over the last 8yrs. The recent revisions of these boots have shown a decline in longevity. I used to be able to get 2 years out of them, then I got a year and a a bit before the laces and flexibility went and now 6 months due to the lining in the boot tearing and wrinkling exposing some sharp plastic bits. I had a similar problem as a previous reviewer with a tongue that was folded/stitched weird from the factory causing pain. I had them swapped under warranty and the new pair was fine. I also had another pair in a prior year that was too tight on one foot and had to swap them to find a pair without a defect. I continue to buy these because of comfort and most importantly the insulation that a lot of boots lack but am frustrated by the decline in quality (and quality control) and the increase in price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from tongue seam causes pain I don't know if it's this batch of boots but every size 8 I've tried on in three stores has a ridge along the side of the tongue under the eyelets that dig into my ankle when I lace them up to the top, which is what I would want to do in the winter snow. I can't keep them. I have to return them. And I'm so sad because I love them otherwise.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money After 4-6 months the entire front half of the sole of both boots has let go. For costing $200 I expected better then that.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a bad boot.. I thought I'd pay the price for good quality boots! So I switched to these Dakotas after suffering with a few pairs of really cheep ones that fell apart around my feet after a short time. My first pair of these lasted about a year before developing a major leak in one of them from a crack in the tread. I happily bought another pair thinking I'd get a year as well only to have one start leaking right after the warranty expired. Due to their high price I have still been using them all summer but now with winter here the snow and wet it makes for a very long day with cold feet in otherwise good looking and quite comfortable boots. I will be buying my 3rd pair soon because there is really nothing else my feet like, I just hope Dakota will fix the design eventually..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible I bought three pairs of these boots and every time either the stiching blows out or the soul seperates from the boot. Sure the price is great but after the 90 day warranty the boots will fall apart. If they had a year warranty then that would say a lot about the boots. Sure wish I would have saved the cash and bought some better brand. Never again will I buy a pair of boots from Mark's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from dont know what everyone else is complaining about love these boots. im on my 4th pair in 4 years. been working in construction for years and rocked the 529's before these and i tried these and never looked back. they are VERY comfortable right out of the box with no need to break in. and i havent had any problems with sole splitting or durability. a pair will last me around 8 months before they need replacing and by this point the only thing considerably worn is the the insole. i wear holes in them under my toes. they stay water proof for a long time as well and only gotten wet socks a couple of times even walking through very deep puddles. i will continue to buy these boots untill dakota stops making them.
