Rated 1 out of 5 by from I'd rather face the rain in a tshirt and jeans I always end up wet in this jacket. Either the rain works it's way through or I sweat so bad I'd have been further ahead without it. The ventilation is so bad that I see no benefit over an old fashioned yellow PVC rain suit. The inside liner is so thin it rips.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I bought this product for work but was impressed with the styling and fit which may have been a mistake. I was looking for a good wind and waterproof jacket for work and went to a local outlet store (Mark's), where I quickly noticed the Viking product which looked pretty good and fit even better. The jacket had multiple tags promising the ultimate in bad weather protection but has not lived up to the claims. On the plus side it wears very well if you require dexterity and has multiple zippered pockets inside and out which come in very handy. I don't know how seriously Viking takes these reviews but I would recommend a little more attention to functionality to compliment what is definitely one of the more stylish jackets on the market.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good while it lasted Fabric wears thru at rub points. Tears easily. Plastic zipper didn't stand up. Pulls apart and hard to start. Hard to clean. I will stay away from Viking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best rain suits I've ever owned I've owned several sets of rain gear over the past 40 or so years for work and sport. Overall, I'd rate the Viking one of the best I've worn. It is virtually windproof and other than getting rain on my neck (when a gust of wind blew the hood off my head# I have never got noticeably wet. I tournament fish in the spring and fall and have been out in the rain, sometimes very heavy and windy, for 10 hours at a time and this suit keeps me dry and warm. Several of my fishing competitors have bought Viking coats and pants since seeing mine and are also very happy with the performance. And, I will be buying another this spring #never hurts to have an extra#. As for the guy whose jacket and pants leaked #see other review), you may have gotten a bad set; I would have asked to have it replaced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket for shoulder season hiking! I purchased this jacket for a fall camping trip in the Quebec mountains in 2011. Not only did the jacket keep me dry, but it also kept me warm. I even use it during the winter as a shell, with a fleece underneath. It is comfortable and moves well, even with a pack on. I cannot attest to how it functions as a work piece, but I would recommend it as an outdoors jacket.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Two improvements needed This jacket fits nicely, quality seems good (except for the following comments), and it is easy to work in but I find that my shoulders get wet after a couple of hours in rain or wet snow. I'm not sure if it leaks through the seams as the other reviewer indicated or if water drips off the hood onto the back of the jacket. In any event mine lets water ooze through the back. The other thing that is a real nuisance is the hood, particularly the hood flaps. If they are done up (closed) they have the tendency to ride up too high on my chin; when they are left loose, and the hood is up, they flap and get in my face when working. Most of the time I don’t button myself up for a blowing rainstorm. The hood seems to be sized for wearing over a hard hat and I do that only occasionally, so unless you wear headwear with a brim, the hood flops forward into your sightline when bending forward to shovel or do other work. The hood isn’t made for wearing over a toque. The jacket fits nicely but it doesn’t really keep you dry like rainwear should.
