Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quailty soles We bought these for our son last year but he didn't start wearing them until the end of June. It's now Sept 14/16 and the sole has separated from the boot at the toe. The same as some of the other complaints. I wish I had read the reviews first.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality in workmanship Bought these boots end of January 2016, I wear them for a light duty job and the sole is seperating from the boot!! Not pleased..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap! I bought this pair last summer, I work in road construction and they get in asphalt, mud ,water, every condition. They last 2 months the soles separated and the plate are exposed. The oldest version of the 529 with stitches at the bottom were way better and last at least a full season. I don't recommend this product at all, only good for office people.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from repeat owner. I go through 1 pair of work boots a year. I walk everyday at my job. in the past I have tried several designs and manufactures. still I buy the 529. very durable and comfortable. I wear the sole out from walking. I agree that they have a bit of a breaking in period. couple of weeks for me. I am on my 10th year with them and purchasing another pair next month. great boot!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from What changed??? I have just bought my sixth pair. The first four where great. They were comfortable right out of the box and lasted about two years each. The fifth pair was also comfortable but the soles separated at the toe (fixed with a little construction adhesive). About a month ago I purchased another pair. The left boot hurt my heel so much I couldn't wear them. So, I did something I have never done, I took them back and exchanged them. The replacement pair seemed okay for a few days but started to hurt my foot in the same place. Has the construction process or the design changed? I wear my boots at least 12 hours a day and need my feet to be comfortable. It's a shame. I really liked my old boots. I felt secure and was comfortable in them. I don't feel the same any more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poorly designed They my not feel bad when you try them on, but they blistered my heel badly in under an hour. They are basically expensive junk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst anti-slip EVER I've had several pairs of Dakota boots now, all with supposed "Tarantula Anti-slip". This pair of boots is by far the most terrible on wet surfaces, especially on any sort of metal surface. Every time I wear these boots when it is raining outside, I have close calls. DO NOT BUY THESE BOOTS IF TRACTION IS AT ALL IMPORTANT TO YOU. The traction on my old Dakota boots is so much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product Bought em in 2014. Started wearing em 4 months ago. Kicking steal, gets some welding heat. All on cement at least 8 hours per day. No issues so far

Rated 2 out of 5 by from poor quality i purchase two pair at a time and both did not last a year. Which means I wore each pair about 2.5 days per week. Soles seperated and plates exposed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable and longevity My husband is very hard on his work boots, as a farmer, he goes through a pair every year, some don't even make the season. He bought this pair of boots in 2016 and is still wearing them. He could probably get another year out of them, but as they are sale, I am buying a new pair, so he can retire this. This has never happened with any other boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 27 years of service I purchased these for my husband as he has been a mechanic for 27 years and has worn these exact boots for 27 years...that must speak to their comfort and durability. My husband looks for reasons to complain about anything but doesn’t have a bad word to say about these

Rated 3 out of 5 by from don't listen to these crybabies you get what you pay for with these boots and they back their product with an awesome warranty. i'm a hard working carpenter running around in these boots for 10 to 12 hours+.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from PHYSICAL DISCOMPFORT-WASTED MONEY Baught these and thinking it would be a good tough boot.. too bulky, easy to trip in, the most uncomfortable boot i have ever had, i recommend people not to get them. I used them in scaffolding & carpentry.... very disappointing in product.. TOO BULKY.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very disappointing Great looking comfortable boots BUT the first pair, the sole separated at the toe after about six months. Bought another exact pair and after five months the quad stitching came apart all along the side of the foot. The boots apparently have a 100 day warranty. I’ve had to wrap masking tape around my boot because I can’t afford another pair right now. These are not cheap boots so this is unacceptable. I suggest that you not waste your money. I wish I had read the ratings first.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tarantula grip is a joke Ive owned these boots now for roughly 3 weeks. Theyre starting the break in so theyre getting a little more comfortable thankfully. My biggest complaint is the tarantula grip. It simply does not work. Its now end of october and temperatures are around -2 and the grip turned rock hard and so incredibly slippery. I cant seem to get a good grip on anything. You can hear it in your walk that the treads turn hard when it gets cold. Gonna return them this weekend and try something else.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worst boots I've even bought They feel comfortable until you sweat and have to walk around. Then they start rubbing the back of your heel a lot. Tying them up is a nightmare. They feel stiff as soon as it gets to -5C

Rated 2 out of 5 by from An ok boot I bought these boots last year and after 3 months the stitching let go on the sides, had them replaced and wore the new ones for a while and now the boot is separated from the toe and the stitching in the heel is all blown out, and the eyelets get sharp after a while and bent and start to cut laces up unless you try and flatten the eyelets. they are a comfy boot but poor quality and dont last

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage boots Been buying boots at Marks my entire life, right from my very first pair. They didn't have the boot in stock that I normally go with so I picked up a pair of these. Absolute junk, felt OK when I tried on in store but after a single full day of work with them I couldn't keep going, incredibly uncomfortable and you could tell these boots were poorly made. Cleaned up the boots and tried to return them but was told they weren't resellable after one day of use. Combine that with the service that the entire store of 16 year old girls that Mark's has hired (who have no idea what they're doing) and I will never return. The only 5 star thing about these boots is that they gave me the final push to buy my work footwear/clothing elsewhere.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Uncomfortable I bought these boots and only kept them for three days. Returned them back. Very uncomfortable. Ended up buying Timberland boots, best boots I ever had. Will never go back too Dakota’s.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long time Dakota wearer! I have worked at my jobsite for over 19 years and nearly all of them in Dakota boots. They are the most comfortable new boot out of the box.
Date published: 2018-06-20
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Comfortable It took me no time to break in these boots. As long as I didn’t tie them too tight, comfy right out of the box. They’re tough but not overly heavy. Way better boot than the 270.00 CATS that I returned to get these. The CATS leaked water on the first day even though they were “waterproof”. I’ll never buy an expensive boot ever again, especially with great boots on the market for half the price. Very satisfied customer!
