Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2nd pair I have been wearing steel toe boots for almost 30 years. I have worn more Dakota boots in my life than any other brand. I have switched a couple of times for one reason or another and have always gone back to Dakota. About 8 months ago I needed another pair of boots. I work on the west coast so winters can be pretty wet, either rain or heavy wet snow. In the beginning I was looking for waterproof boots. However, most of them had a design feature that I knew would fail. Usually it is the upper eyelets or lace holders. I wear my boots tight and can go through laces quickly. The eyelets and quick lace eyelets at the top caught me right away on these. Smooth and durable. Second was the overall appearance of the sole and toe cap as well as the tread. I have always liked the seamless look for strength. One piece, less to tear. Anyways, I tried them on and they are one of the most comfortable pair of boots that I have ever worn. My break in time was about an hour and all was well. The only negative I felt they had was some of the stitching, which proved to be a weak point. On the outside of the right boot right behind the toe cap where the eyelets are sewn to the toe piece of the boot proved to be the weak spot and that seam let go. That is where I figured I would have any problems, if any. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and paid quite a bit for them. Overall, I was not disappointed, they fit incredibly well and after I sprayed them with silicon spray that I got from the store, they were pretty much waterproof. I would probably still wear them however, I need a structurally intact boot for work. I was shopping today and these boots were still in, on clearance. I really liked them and am hoping that I just got a bad one last time. I am a truck driver in the forest industry. I am in and out of my truck walking and climbing on uneven terrain and my feet and ankles felt secure in these boots so I bought them again. I did try on about a dozen pairs today and nothing compared to the comfort in these boots. I feel they will even out do the newer model of the same boot. I would recommend these boots to anyone that wants comfort and security for sure. If they last more than 7 months this time, I will keep buying them. Especially at the price point I got today.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best boots ever. This is the 3rd pair of these boots I have bought over the last 6 years. Wear them winter & summer. The old pairs are still wearable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not true to size Ive been buying this boot for years. At first they were good. ( im very limited as to the style i can buy.) im a size 15. Wide fit. Dakota must have changed their widths, ( even the wide fit boot) because they are now narrower. I talked to my local store. Was told to talk to head office as they can not help me. Head office never returned my calls or emails. Im very dissapointed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from TERRIBLE DURABILITY, Good Comfort Within a year the boot started separating along the grip and around the toe. Only reason it received 2 stars was because they are comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfortable work boot ever! I've owned 3 or 4 pairs of this model of boot. I'll keep buying it until it is discontinued. I do find that after about 9 months my feet start getting sore and I know it's time to replace them, but that is to be expected with the amount of walking I do on concrete floors.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not recommended Bought these 10 months ago and they are already separating at the toe cap and and the sole....sprang for the pricier pair over my previous, and got less than half the use.
