Rated 4 out of 5 by from NOT THE BLACK ONES! I own 2 pair of these pants, one in the tan colour and one in black. Previous reviews are accurate in terms of fit. TRY THEM ON. Each pair seems to fit a little different, but it tends to be a bit small fitting around the waist. Go up a waist size if ordering on line. The features of the pants are awesome, stitching, fit, pockets, and my favourite, the zippered knee slots. Now I buy the cheap foam knee pads, insert them, and they actually stay exactly where I need them whether I'm up or down or whatever, unlike even the very expensive knee pads I have purchased over the years. Here's the curious part though. The tan ones have some stretch, have lasted for years, and I still love them. Best pants I've ever owned actually. The black ones, however, do not have the stretch and they have a couple of rips, one in the crotch and one by the pocket. The tan ones are several years old but the black ones are less than a year old. I'm not sure if the material is different or if the dye changes the characteristics of the fabric, but there does seem to be a difference between the colours. I will buy the tan ones again, but not the black.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tremendous Product These DUCK WORK PANTS (I purposely left out the 'stretch' adjective, since they are *not* stretch material in my opinion) are really great pants. I've owned 2 pairs for 8 months and will be buying 2 more, not because they're worn out (not even close) but so I do less frequent laundry. I love the pockets, durability and comfort, and they look really good too (wife says). If you are considering buying these pants be sure to try them on in-store first, since the sizes are way off as others have said. For example, I wear size 30 waist/32 leg in Levis & Buffalo jeans, but take size 32/32 in these pants. 30/32 is too tight for work. I am a heavy equipment/truck mechanic, and also work excavation job sites. This product is tough enough for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not stretch , at all Sizes are way off , mine have shrunk a little since new, to the point of discomfort now , the 32" inseam now measures 29" , but thinking they were some type of stretch material , I got the normally loose on me size of 32 , which was snug , they now almost cut through my skin at the waist , and look like I'm ready for a flood .Too bad , because they are a nice pant other than that , I like the zip out knee pads and the pocket layout , just keep in mind they are not stretch material ,maybe in a vice with a winch, but not with my hands . so don't get them tight .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great work pants I am so glad I found these pants. Having had a pair of Carhartt's since back when carpenter pants were popular in the mainstream, Carhartt was where I started when I needed to buy a new pair of work pants. But I found that I like these Dakotas a whole lot more. The fit is much cleaner and more attractive and stylish, they are super comfortable, and they even have pockets for knee pads (which I actually use and am really glad to have). I have been wearing the same pair of pants to work every day for the past six months (framing, roofing, drywalling, etc.), and I have been glad to have them every day. It is true that the pants run smaller than the stated size, but I am really glad about that, too, because I normally wear a 28, and the 30 fits perfectly. No holes or signs of wear yet, but when I need to replace these I will buy the same ones again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for the money I use these pants for landscape work where I'm in dirt, on concrete and running around. I bought the pants for under $50 where other brands are over $80. I find them no more flexible than other work pants which I was hoping for since advertised as Stretch Duck Work Pants. After two months I have a few small holes, faded a bit since I'm in the sun all day, over all OK.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These pants are perfect for any heavy-duty work I was looking for pants that would not fray around the pockets and waist. My job requires a lot of lifting, carrying and kneeling; normal pants do not last or are made for this type of use. The fabric is strong and the seams are built to last. The pockets are durable and can hold keys, pens or other items you may need. The loops are good for tools or hanging carabiners (my main use of them). The stretch makes these pants more comfortable to wear. Not included, but these pants have kneepad slots, and the knees are double-layered. A great buy for any handyman or laborer. My only issue with these is they do feel bulky at first (I am not a large person), but you get used to them. So happy I bought this pair!
