Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stiff, uncomfortable poor ventilation I buy new boots every year and thought these would be good because they are ventilated and my feet sweat quite a bit. Can’t notice the ventilation at all. My unvented boots feel more ventilated than these. Very stiff boots and the tongue rubs on your foot unless they are tied up so tight it’s very uncomfortable. i contacted the maker Merrell and said I wanted to return them and they said they don’t guarantee comfort even though the box says 60 days money back guaranteed. Don’t buy these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Look good but fit large I unfortunately had to return these boots as they do fit larger than the size you usually wear. Since I had the smallest size I could not exchange. Other people did mention that on their reviews. The internet shopping and tracking by Marks WW. was more than excellent. They were also on sale at the time which made them a good value.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as good as I thought they would be I enjoy wearing Merrell shoes, so I thought work boots would be the same. The comfort is really good, spending extra money for non-steel boots has made a different being on my feet all day. But, the boot does not vent. My feet are soaked after every shift. I change my socks 5 times during a shift now, but I didn't start doing that soon enough as now I have sores. I've even tried wearing different types of socks. I returned the first pair I bought at Marks thinking there was a defect. The second pair was no different. I've emailed Merrell three times. I've only been told to return them to where I bought them. If the cushioning wasn't so good I'd toss them. The stitching at the top of the toe is also coming off after 2 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always wanted a pair of Merrel work boots. Like others stated these boots run big, so going a size down is recommended. I wear size 13 shoes and typically size 12 boots, but with these I comfortably fit size 11s... could even fit into size 10s but that was a tight fit with my toes touching the inside of the toe box. I've had these boots for 2 weeks now, and will try to do an update 6 months to a year down the road but out of the box I like these boots a lot. They look great with a nice mix of synthetic materials and leathers on the upper... only time will tell if there truly durable enough, they're light weight thanks to the comp toe and plate, they're water resistant (though I still like to apply nikwax to all my boots for added protection and water repellency) they're definitely breathable, you can feel the air circulating through the boot on a breezy day, they've got great traction and seem fairly comfortable... I did have a few days of sore feet at first but that's cause I didn't have time to fully break them in at home and wouldn't recommend going a full days work with these right out of the box, but the boots seem to break in fast and are getting comfier each day...I'll likely replace the insoles soon (which is something I typically do with all my work boots) and I don't have any heel lift issues, but I tie these boots using a lace lock technique. would've preferred a traditional fully stitched sole rather than a molded and glued sole but that's not something merrel typically does (If at all) and overall IMHO they're the best mid cut hiker style work boots I've ever had and they might just be my new favorite work boots to buy...if they last as well as other boots I've tried.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Designed for those with Gorilla feet I usually wear a 9.5 size for warehouse work, a 10 for construction work and to accommodate wool socks, etc, and tried these. When I first sized these in the store, I did keep the previous review in mind, that they would be a little wide, and to consider smaller sizes. Well I went down to the minimum size of 9 that still had toe room, but the width of the foot and especially around the ankle were way larger than expected, and should be. This great looking shoe is made for those with thick gorilla ankles and wide gorilla feet. I am a frequent customer of Merril's but this design is way, way off. The sizing is whack, the width is whack, and the ankle support is loose and sloppy, which can cause blisters if worn for 8 hours during work.
