Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I purchase several pair of these each year for work and have done so for as long as I can remember because these are the only Wind River socks with Merino Wool. Unfortunately, this year's socks have a defect. This defect being that the upper elasticized cuff that wraps around the lower leg is too loose so the socks fall down as a result. I have several pair that are several years old and the upper cuff remains nice and snug as it should. Clearly Wind River has changed something...perhaps its their manufacturer, the manufacturing facility, the specs, something. I recommend that this defect be remedied. I will not be purchasing any more until it is resolved. See pictures. For now I am stuck with three pair of new socks that are of no use to me...the Mark's manager told met that socks cannot be returned after use - defective or not. Too bad!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good but one major flaw I have bought quite a few of these socks and I use them for work in steel toe boots. I spend about 90% of my time sitting and 10% walking outside. So generally I do not put much stress on these socks and I love the fit, the warmth and the fact they do not slide or bunch up on my ankle. The one and only major flaw that has frustrated me to no end is that the heel wears out in a matter of a few months while the rest of the sock is still in like new condition. I don't know what type of material is used on the heel and toe of this sock but it is clearly different than the main body of the sock. It wears out as though it is made of paper. If I was in a position to advise the people who make this sock, I would firstly ask them if they have done any consumer testing at all? If not, that would explain why they are not receiving valuable feedback on how to improve this from an OK sock to a really good one! I have decided not to buy another pair until I see some improvement. I am now going to try out Bombas socks which cost more but I don't mind spending more for a good sock! -sockless in Winnipeg

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very good for winter I wear them all the time in winter In hiking boots, casual boots, winter shoes...they are the best socks that I purchased. Got it last year for Christmas gift. Now I bought more for myself and for others. Due to the thickness, it does take some extra space compared to other socks. But once you get over the snuggly feeling, it does not hurt your feet in the casual boot. During work (walking and standing all the time), I tend to get sweady feet. These socks will not keep your feet cold and wet even soaking with the sweat like the others. I guess that is the benefits of blended wool. Got one for my hubby who hikes a lot. All I heard from him is nothing but how comfortable and warm they are. Only thing complained is they NEVER get on sale ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My husband really likes these socks. Theses socks keep the feet warm in our Ottawa winters. The socks are made of 55% merino wool, no toe bumps, elastisized arch and ankle so the socks don’t shift. Nice height so boot tops don’t rub. Husband has been wearing them for 3 years and likes them so much he bought a couple more. He tried to buy some for me however there are none for women and no smaller size.☹️

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Comfortable Sock The sock is very comfortable. The durability of this sock has declined over the years. After about a months usage the heel wears through.
