Rated 1 out of 5 by from What can i say! What can I say, i mean, other than sharing my experience with these boots. Bought my first pair last year, near the end of winter (WindRiver T-Max heat), had them for a couple of weeks and had to return them . The seam on the side of the boot (where you foot bends before your toes) was defective and created a whole in the boot picking up water, slush and snow Went back to the store and they told me that it was a product defect and gave me new ones (i was happy so far) used them for another couple of weeks and put them away until this winter. Now, after wearing them a couple of times this winter, same problem, same place ! The “seam” on the side of the boot failed again and boots are now picking up water and slush again. I am using these boots ONLY for walking and taking the bus to get to work. Nothing else – simply walking, and both pairs failed within a couple of weeks, walking ! - These boots are probably the cheapest boots I’ve owned. For this price, you can get way better quality in some other brand. i’ve paid 60$ for a “backup” pair of boots from somewhere else in case my windriver boots were wet or.. (which i was hoping to wear all winter as my primary pair of boots to go to work) but it turns out that my 60$ pair of boots is doing a better job and seems to be way more resistant than my windriver boots! Very disappointed. I will not buy windriver boots again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Boots They lasted about 1 month before they started cracking and ripping around the sides at the front where the toes bend. I'm guessing the quality can't stand the cold..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay on small amounts of ice but didn't last long The boots are good on small amounts of ice, however, after about two months of wear, one of the boots got a small tear where the foot bends. It was hard to give these boots up but I had to take them back for a refund.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Couldn't even last a month I spent a lot of time believing in the ice gripping technologies these pair of store brand shoes have. The conclusion is they didn't work on an icy surface at the airport I had to walk down for about 20 minutes and the results was entirely poor in comparison to a pair of shoes I bought two years ago in Edmonton which last 2 years with no issue. But this is not the main reason I'm turning this product in today, the reason is they started ripping around the sides at the front where the toes bend. I'm writing this review while reading the others' which is exactly the same terrible manufacturing defect. I'm hoping this product will be discontinued and collected from all Mark's stores ASAP. BTW, due to the ice gripping technology, its performance on a dry surface is not good at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Work well on normal ice They work well on normal ice but aren't grippy enough to save you from a windstorm.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent winter boot. Not awesome. I have had these boots for about 2 weeks. Thus I can't comment on the durability of them. I find that they fit small and narrow. A wider fit option is needed for them. The TARANTULA ICEFX is essentially useless. The sidewalks have been icy here for over a week. I do not notice any significant increase in traction on ice compared to my old boots. They do seem warm at least. I do recommend them. But only if you find them on sale. I would not pay full price for them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love these Boots Okay so I had these boots for 1 full year now and I find it dissappointing to see these other reviews. They are a hiker boot not a work boot. I wear them for all my Winter walks and I walk alot nightly. These boots suck on ICE that is why I rated 4 stars. The Ice technology on the bottom is useless and doesnt work. What I love with these boots is the comfort, they are very warm and will keep you warm. I have tried them in -30 for 2 hour walks numerous times, my feet boil. These boots are great in snow and have excellent traction in snow...again not ICE, its ice, what do you expect. My boots are still fully intact there is no damage or wear and tear yet. I highly recommend these boots, they are very affordable, well worth it.
