If I want to sit, the extended length enables my bottom to stay warm and dry. When the grandchildren go sledding, I am now able to stay out with them the whole time when wearing this jacket. No snow going up these sleeves. In the winter, dressed in light-weight work-out clothes, I stay toasty while walking to and from the car.
Columbia has made it easy to remove the "fur" before washing the jacket.

First of all, love the color! It was better than I expected. Love the "comfort cuffs with thumb holes" for added protection for hands and the thermal insulation with water resistant fabric for wet weather. The two-way zipper makes it easy to wear but still get in a car or sit on a bleacher.

New Winter Coat

I was looking for a new winter coat because the Columbia one I had was 4 years old and the pocket tore and it was getting worn out going through 4 winters. I finally got this water proof one. It's soooo nice. I love it. The winter coat I had before my new one was not water proof so I'm very happy to have purchased a water proof coat finally. I do commute and live in the city so I think this coat is going to be great. Columbia brand is amazing. Hope it last me years like my other jackets and coats.

A: Hi there, thank you for bringing this to our attention. You are correct there is no down in this jacket. Instead this jacket uses Thermarator™ insulation which helps to retain heat even when damp to ensure you stay warm even on those wet winter days. We are in the process of updating the description to remove down from the title.

We like to think of our Outerwear styles as falling into the Warm – Warmer – Warmest categories vs. assigning specific temperature ratings which could be subjective. In this case, we would classify this style as our “Warmest” category of product. Stay warm out there –winter can be so much fun when you have the right gear!
