Great low profile shoe for indoor wearhouse work, materials hold up well considering how light they are

Unlike others, I’ve only had normal wear & tear issues after 8 months of every day use. They’re not as comfortable as others, but that should be obvious considering they’re more a casual work shoe.

To start, I'm a fan of good products made here. These are my 4th pair of Mellow Walks (2 of these series, "Owen" in two different colour ways) and these last 6 months alternating weekday use. That's not bad, except for that these shoes carry a relatively high retail price. The failure points is always the same: The threads/sewing method that attaches the sole to the upper fails. (Another review has posted photos and my mode of failure is exactly the same) The Good: These are comfortable for me. I am a 275-100, so I often lean towards 10US/43EU: I found Mellow Walks true to size so 10US fit well. They're relatively supportive of my arch for such a flat shoe. Marks.com system says I ordered 10US-2E, the box says it's 2E, and the shoe tag says 2E but they definitely fit narrower. Perhaps they have mislabelled their forming lasts. These definitely fit like a D/N/Average width shoe. The leather used is very nice. It takes up protectants and conditioners well. Short of dropping sharp things on it, my shoes have held up well (aside from the mentioned construction issue). Walking through a mixture of water, hydraulic fluid, DE and other goo it has good traction for a flat soled shoe. I'm sure they didn't intend this shoe to be worn in an industrial setting but it works well. There is a lack of ankle protection and support. I wear these mostly when I'm in the office. If I'm on the shop floor actually doing real work, I opt for tall boots. I've worn these out doing light work, like layout, and light fabrication and they do well except for the occasional hot metal chip that falls into my sock. If the construction was fixed these were be a no-brainer every season for me, but 2 shoes failing between 6 and 10 months is not great for my wallet.
