Sizing is very inconsistent

Ordered 2 pairs of the exact same jeans, but in different wash. Sizing was waaay different with one pair than it was with the other. Held the smaller pair up to the other one and the one jean is easily 1/2" smaller in all dimensions but length than the other. Don't bother wasting time buying online - you need to be able to try these on at the store or you may be running there to exchange anyway.
