Boots are just ok

The boots are ok. My last 6 pairs of boots were Redwings but I felt they had gotten to expensive. When I saw a boot with the Carhart name on it I was surprised, it must be good, right? Nope, a cheap boot with a quality name on it. The boots feel like they are made of a poor imitation of leather and the laces feel like they are full of wax. I wear my boots every day and these are just not comfortable. They are ok, but that's it. I am trying to decide if I should wear these out, or go right now to get Redwings and put these in the closet. I am unhappy with myself for making this decision based on money.

No, I do not recommend this product.

These boots have held up for 3 years of railroad use walking on sharp shale rock. Most boot soles would wear out within a year. After 3 years the soles are still looking alright, but that comes at a cost. Boots are comfortable but hard on the feet if not always moving. Sole is like a piece of plastic in the winter aswell. Took 2 years before my toe caps decided to peel, but that will be different depending on how you use the boots. Overall happy with these boots because they have lasted longer than any other I have had.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I work in the Automotive repair trade so these boots go through alot of abuse. They’re comfortable, they look good, but the downside is durability, they wear out fast and material begins to disintegrate fairly quickly. Lasted me about 2 years. I’ve had less expensive boots last me 3 years. Cheers.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Comfortable, but not waterproof.

After trying on no less than a dozen pairs ot boots from other brands I was very excited for the comfort of these boots. Being a ground up carpenter I was excited for the waterproof features of these boots. After a very short peroid of time i had the oppertunity to test the waterproof features of these boots only to be disapointed by the results. There is no visible punctures, tears, or any damage to be found on the boots, and yet, they leak. I am certain that given time the problem will lead to the boots deteriating.

Disappointing and poor quality

I purchased these boots and in under 6 months the front rubber started to fray, they were no longer waterproof and the inside material started coming apart which made them very uncomfortable. I have tried getting in contact with Carhartt about a warranty claim however after a few emails they ghosted me and haven't replied to my multiple follow up emails. The boots weren't up to the usual Carhartt standard which was very disappointing.

These boots are the worst!!!

These boots are the worst!!! Uncomfortable to the point I had to buy 4 different insoles to try and make them decent enough to work in, the inner heel was worn through the fabric after 2 months of medium duty work. The oute toe cap was peeling back on the edges after 2 months as well. Worst boots I have ever bought and I like carhartt stuff for the most part.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: What are the boots temperature rating?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, We dont assign temperature ratings to our boots, as there are so many external factors that make it impossible to guage how warm it will feel for each individual. (wind chill, activity level, layering, metabolism etc.) These boots do have 400 grams of thinsulate insulation, our insulated boots range anywhere from 200 grams to 1000 grams of insulation, the more insulation, the warmer the boot will feel.
