It's warm, fits loose for extra layers and has great pockets! Carhartt quality for women.

My new favorite jacket

I love this jacket. It’s got lots of different pockets. Well made with comfy Sherpa at the collar and removable hood. It’s warm and useful for many different weather conditions. I also like the side slits to make it possible to wear horse riding. The jackets is long enough to cover my bottom as well. This is not my first Carhartt piece of clothing as I like the swing jacket for more physical activities and work. It is shorter in length and has the Sherpa down the back to keep warm but this one is very smartly made!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Best barn jacket

Absolutely love this jacket! I live on a hobby farm in northern Michigan and it's perfect for our tough winter weather! The button holes were a little stiff in the beginning but have loosened up after a week. It also has a heavy duty zipper if you don't want to use the buttons.

Sturdy, roomy, reliable

Got this jacket to replace a beloved old Carhartt. I'm 6' and 170 (yeah, big woman!), normally wear a size 16 and hate restrictive clothes, so I ordered the XL originally. Too big, even on me. Got a size Large, it still fits loosely, plenty of room for a fleece lined hoodie under. They are not kidding about loose fit. Love the sturdy outer fabric, it wears like iron, no worries about rips or snags no matter what I'm doing. Seems on par for quality with the old jacket that finally got too ratty after maybe 30 years. Lots of pockets that are big and deep enough to actually hold stuff (hat, flashlight, phone, gloves, dog leash, bag balm tin, keys, etc). The sleeve holes could extend a bit lower for better arm motion when layered but it could just be the jacket is still stiff. Like good boots, it will need breaking in. I got trad Carhartt brown.

I really loved. Normally I wear a size medium, but with this jacket I ordered a size small and it's perfect.

Light but sturdy, runs large

Great jacket, not thick and bulky but sturdy, can't wait to break it in. I'm 5'7" 130 lbs and ordered a small, wasn't sure how it would fit since I would normally go for a medium in jackets, but saw this was loose fit and have heard Carhartt run large. The sleeves of the small were good but I was absolutely drowning in the rest of it so got an extra small, and it was a much better fit! When I tried it on with a sweatshirt underneath, the sleeves of the extra small were a touch tight when bending my elbows, but I think it will break in just fine. Great jacket, hope this can help folks with sizing. Didn't have any trouble with the zipper the way other people have described, it's a big metal double zipper and takes a little effort but nothing crazy.

What a great jacket. Super warm. Love the extra length with side slits. Keeps your bottom warm without pinching off your thighs!!

Questions

1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: Is it rated for -50C winter?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello! Carhartt does not provide a temperature rating, as its very dependant on circumstance (activity level, metabolism, environment etc. ) to help provide a guage, Carhartt rates their winter garments into 4 warmth levels, Where level 4 is the warmest rated. This Jaket rates as a level 2 on their scale, I would not recomend it for the extreme -50 cold that you are asking about.
