[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't realize how practical this jacket was until I took it on an African safari during the continent's winter months. Roomy for layering, DWR finish has good dust repellancy, chest pocket is very practical, velcro wrist closures really seal out the wind. Plus the jacket (black) looks stylish when entering airport business lounges. Could not be more pleased especially with the sale price.

What a Great Jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was Christmas time 2025, my wife and I were shopping at the mall. She wanted a pair of gloves and I was just tagging along like a good husband does. We walked by a Columbia outdoor store and went inside. She found the hats and gloves section and I was just standing there. Now understand, I need a jacket or coat, like I need a hole in my head. I have closets full of seasonal outdoor wear, but a jacket caught my eye.
It was a dark blue, soft shell, hooded jacket, with a smooth fabric sheen. I asked if they had my size, and I went home with a new outfit.
Skip to today, I liked the jacket so much that I purchased a non hoodie in black. Both of these jackets are perfect for temperatures where you need a little protection from thee elements. The Ascender Soft Shell jacket is ideal. Buy two, I did.😀

Nice Jacket except for the lining in the sleeves

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the jacket except for the fleece lining in the sleeves. Putting the jacket on over long sleeve shirts is difficult as the fleece sticks to the shirt like velcro. Change the lining in the sleeves and this jacket would be perfect.
