Columbia Men's Redmond Waterproof Hiking Boots - Wide

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have only used them walking around my neighborhood but am confident they will serve me well in hikes coming up. I got the wide in my 9.5 size. They are true to size, not much smaller as some have said. They seem comfortable, sturdy, handsome--like Merrell Moabs but far better priced when on sale.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had these for over a year now with weekly and sometimes daily use. I use them for Scout trips, short hiking daytrips, and sometimes everyday walkwear depending on what I'm doing. They breath well, and the seem to have good traction on different surfaces. They kept my foot dry in the rain, though I have not had to fully submerge my feet. They have held up pretty well on the outer as well as the sole. My only real issue is that my pair was not true to size compared to most of the other shoes I purchase. I wear an 12Wide. These felt shorter in length, and a bit more narrow for a Wide, and the overall shoe felt tight surrounding toes and bridge of the foot. I did use a shoe stretcher, and that helped with actually being able to wear them with comfort before breaking them in. The downsize to this is that I can only wear them with thinner socks. Unfortunately Columbia stops offer 1/2 sizes past 12. WHY? Why stop at 11 1/2? And I tried on 13W in a store, and it is much too large. A full size, even with thick socks is too much. The provided insole was a bit thin, which wasn't uncomfortable initially, but now that the shoe is older and worn, the cushion has compressed. It could stand to be 50% thicker, if the shoe was more true to size. I've tried getting thicker insoles, but then that puts pressure on the top and makes the show even more narrow. So, overall a pretty good lower cost option that seem to hold up to regular use....just make them slightly bigger and offer 1/2 sizes for ALL shoe sizes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fit is great and they are comfortable. The wide toe box is nice and after a few hikes I've decided I like them. Went to buy another pair and they were sold out dang it.
