Ankle support causes pain

I bought these a year ago and the plastic ankle support somehow bent or shifted and digs into my ankle EVERY TIME I WALK. Doesn’t matter the bulk of socks or anything. I absolutely cannot wear these due to the discomfort. Seriously upset because I loved these boots! Columbia DO BETTER.

Excellent boot, warm, waterproof and comfortable. I've been wearing for many years, I have 4 different pairs and highly recommend, I walk 5km a day even in frigod weather and rhese don't disappoint. Àlso very durable.

Not suitable for women who use orthotics

These shoes (wide size) triggered plantar fasciitis in both feet, as well as back pain, after 20 mins walk in the snow in an urban area (even concrete sidewalk).
The design is lacking proper arch support, despite having plenty of room for orthotics. I had less pain in my feet and back wearing other shoes without orthotics. Overall, I'm disappointed that proper feet support wasn't taken into consideration when designing these shoes.
It doesnt matter how toasty my feet feel if I can't spend more than 20 mins in these shoes before they start affecting my health.
The only good things I have to say is that
