Comfortable and flexible

I have arthritis in my toes and there are very few shoes/workboots I can wear without being in pain. These boots have a big toe box so that there is no additional pressure on my toe joints. Plus, the bottom is rigid which minimizes the flex of my toes bending backwards, which is also an issue. On top of that, these are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. Some boots feel like a very thin layer between your feet and the concrete, but these have a thick and well padded sole (I have custom orthotics which fit easily as well). I am on my feet on a concrete shop floor all day and these have been great. I've had them for over a year and a half and again, they have been fantastic and I highly recommend them for anyone who has similar foot problems. My previous two pairs had also been Dakotas - due to the large toe box that so many other boots don't have, but they discontinued making them for some reason. Shopping for boots can be a miserable experience when you have painful toes and I tried on dozens of boots of various makes from different stores until I found these, then I bought two pairs to have a backup for when these die or if they discontinue making them again which I hope they do not do. The soles have held up well, and my only complaint, which is very small, are the laces. My last three pair of Dakotas have all burned out the laces rather quickly around the eyelets for some reason, so I had to source others which have held up very well, but I doubt I can promote them here in this review.... But that's all. Dakota, please keep making these boots. Ok, one more thing, they're pretty expensive and I wish they were a little less. Try to get them on sale if you can.
