Warm at -40⁰c, excellent boots

The boots are very warm and have good grip. I wore them at temperature between-30⁰c to -40⁰c and performed very well. The only thing i'm a little disappointed is the size, I usually wear size 9.5 so I bought size 10 and they are wide enough but tight lengthwise. There's a lot of padding and cushions inside so I told myself eventually they will stretch but it didn't happen so here's a tip, buy a size bigger that you normally wear and you won't regret it

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good so far - No liners though

I've tried these boots down to -24C so far. Luckily, it hasn't hit -50C yet, but I can tell that these boots will keep me warm even at those temps. I've had other winter boots that were rated to -70C, and they were okay at -40C, but these definitely feel like they will be warmer. But so far at -24C they were great, being outdoors for half the day, with minimal walking. - Will update when the temp drops. Size-wise, go up 2 sizes. I'm usually around a 9us, but got these in an 11us. Make sure you also wear good socks when testing. I wear a very thin toe merino liner sock, with a mid-weight merino sock on top. The two negatives so far... No extra liners are available online. I see there is a woman's version, but no men's. So, you are stuck with only one, which is really annoying. And there is no Dakota store, so you have to buy only from Marks, and their supply is not great. You will probably need to buy a new set of laces too, because the ones that are supplied are short. They barely allow me to tie the boots. It's annoying as well. I ordered a new set on Amazon, the only place I could find some, in this extra-long length, around 100" - give or take.

Great boot but small fitting

I have had a pair of these for about ten years now. Not wanting to have to wear 2 pairs of socks I bought them in my shoe size of 9. They were a bit tight when I bought them but thought after some time they would settle during breakin. I only wear these for about 3 weeks a year during the coldest part of our northern Ontario winters. These boots are like brand new even after ten years of summer storage and the limited winter use. My issue is. The liner has not settled in and the boots are about a half size to small with the liners in. Fitting small I find the boots warmer in colder temps without the liners and I wonder if I am getting the full benefit without the liners in them. Without the liners and the addition of a felt sole liner to the bottom of the boot, these boots are warm past minus 35 Celsius. Worried about the thin liners not lasting the life of the boot, I bought a second when I bought the boots. Looking through all of the different write ups and reviews I cannot find anything on temperature rating rating or weight value for the liners. Boots show 400 grams of insulation but what value do the liners have and add to the boot?
