Unclasping is frustrating

I bought two pairs of suspenders for my father.
He had his old pair for more than 20 years and they were held together by safety pins.
The clasps on his old pair never came apart, however on both the new pairs, the clasps unclasp constantly at the back and they don’t want to grip to his pants. He is 97 years old and this is very frustrating for him!! Please give me insight on how I can remedy this for him. I noticed the clasps have hard plastic attached, his old pair didn’t. Could this be the issue?

They tend to stay done up. That is a good thing. My other suspenders were coming apart all the time

When the use of a belt is not possible for medical reasons, suspenders are the way to go. Dakota has produced a great product with both choice of material for the webbing and a perfect simple attachment design. Once I tried a set, had to go back for more!
