Sole splits

I bought first pair and within 2 months, the sole split across the ball of my foot, returned them to the store as they were defective, they replaced them for me. Within two weeks of wearing the second pair, the same thing happened. I just won't buy another pair of Denver Hayes :( It's too bad, because they looked nice.
