Boots

Excellent boot for winter walking, warm dry. However they dont last. The tabs broke of my daughters the 1st winter. The sole let go on mine 3/4 the way thru the 2nd winter. Unfortunate because they are perfect otherwise.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Lousy Laces

They're comfortable and very warm, but the laces are very poor quality, which is really annoying. They're breaking after only a month of use, and unless you double-knot them, they'll come undone in 5 minutes.

Q: What is the cold rating for these boots?  Also, confused as to why you would make a winter boot that is not waterproof?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello - These boots have a cold weather comfort rating of -20C to -30C tested at a moderate activity level. (Walking). Thank you for the waterproof feedback, 100% understand the logic. Adding a membrane does add a fair bit of cost though and on a few winter boots we do try to keep the cost lower so that there are lower priced options as well. Hope this helps, -Karlie

Q: Is it safe on ice specially on ice covered with snow.

1 Answer
  • A: Thanks for reaching out. While nothing can be 100% guaranteed on ice, these boots do offer enhanced traction on ice when the OC Rotor in the heel is engaged. When engaged the heel has studs that should help dig into ice and offer better grip in the heel area of the boot. Hope this helps.

Q: Is it possible to have the manufacturer make these waterproof in the future?

1 Answer
  • A: Thanks for reaching out. This is something we can consider, and it is possible yes. However, it does add substantial cost to the boot, and we do try to make sure we are offering a range of boot prices to accommodate different needs. Appreciate the feedback and will consider the suggestion.

Q: How much water/snow can they handle

1 Answer
  • A: Thanks for reaching out. These boots are not waterproof. I would suggest treating them with a spray that can be used on synthetic materials. These boots are a polyurethane (PU) upper. Even when treated they will be repellent at best not waterproof. I wouldn't suggest standing in slush.

Q: Im usually a size 9, but at this time my feet are swollen. Should iI order a size 9 or go with a size 10.

1 Answer
  • A: Thanks for reaching out. This is very hard to say with certainty. My thoughts are winter boots are typically warmer when you have more space for your toes to wiggle around. More space usually equals, more trapped air, which means warmer. You also have the ability to add a thick sock or thicker insole if they are roomy. Having said that, these are not an overly small fitting boot so my guess is you are probably ok with a 9 so long as your sock choice is thinner. Always best to try on and we do offer a 100-day return policy, so you do have time to exchange or return.
