"Leather" rips easily. Very disappointed.

I had these mitts a few years ago and they lasted me a few years before they wore out so I ordered myself as well as my daughters each a pair but the quality of the "leather" is not what it was. The "leather" is so thin, it tore while shovelling snow and this was within a couple of weeks of purchasing them. Both mitts are now torn just from daily activity ie driving, shovelling snow, opening doors. For the price of these mitts I would expect that they should at least last one winter. Quality of these mitts is horrible and I would not recommend them at all. I'm sorry I bought them as gifts.
