For my first fishing trip to Alaska, I was told that my Gortex coat wouldn't cut it in the rain, so I bought this Neptune jacket. I was never so glad for a purchase in my life! This jacket stood up to relentless and driving rain out on a fishing boat for days on end. It blocked a fierce wind that accompanied that rain. Using it as my top layer, I stayed warm and dry underneath. I had already purchased the Neptune bib and combining the two made my trip so much more comfortable than had I stuck with my original gear. This jacket is tough and took a lot of abuse during this trip and still retained it's brand new look. Not only would I recommend this jacket to everyone, I would certainly buy another one if anything happened to this one.

Short answer is I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a comfortable, durable, and truly waterproof jacket. I bought this jacket specifically to work outdoors in the rainy Pacific Northwest winter. I wore it for three weeks in miserable weather, all while doing some heavy manual labor (carrying trees around a Christmas tree lot). Stayed perfectly dry and warm. So here's a longer answer... I was tired of buying "techy", breathable rain jackets...just to have them die of dry rot and/or get wet after a day in the rain. So in my search for something that will better withstand time and the elements, I found this jacket. This thing held up to some abuse while working in it. I did notice a small hole above the button fly, but patched up easy with some rubber cement. I ended up buying the XS (I'm male, 5'2", and 130lb) and found it fit well. It's a slightly boxier fit which is nice for mobility, ventilation, and layering...but not too long in the body (something I always struggle with). Got the orange color for some style points and good visibility for dark, rainy nights!

I bought this about 5 months ago and the jacket has been what is described. The only downside were the pockets. Not sure if it was just mine, but the pockets did get wet/cold on the inside from the stitched seam at the bottom of the jacket. Again not a huge deal, but when it’s cold and you put your hands in the pockets, you definitely don’t want it to feel wet. Other than that, great jacket.

Have had 2 of these jackets both have had problems with the zippers freezing/ breaking. Not “commercial grade “ .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket works for me. For work I’m in and out of truck a lot so I purchased a size larger for better breath ability and so I can layer clothes underneath for the colder days. So far it seem durable.

Well constructed. Kept me dry in wind driven rail.

Great for rainy days on our open boat, island hopping in Penobscot Bay.
