Fits small.Pockets terrible.

This item is not a standard “true” fit. It fits a size smaller than my previous Denver Hayes parkas. The fur trim is barely held on with snaps and detaches easily. The back of the neck and connected hood sit low and pull awkwardly across the shoulder. The pockets are small and angled in such a way that items can fall out. Would not recommend and was put back in the bag for a store exchange within minutes.

The coat is warm and nice looking. However, the zipper is cheap and it most likely will need to be replaced.

Poor Workmanship and Cheap Snaps

The Shasta Parka arrived folded in a shipping bag. Upon unfolding it, I noticed the faux fur was not snapped in place (off by one snap). This would be a sign to the production and materials used. The parka portion is great! It is good in the cold, windy conditions - haven’t had it on during wet snow yet. The snaps used in the crappy faux fur are not deep enough to hold the fur so every time I try to put the hood up, the snaps unsnap and I’m left with a dangling piece of faux fur! Too expensive for this poor quality of work and materials. Even on sale, not worth the price.

While the coat is well-made and fits true to size, I find the zipper unbelievably difficult to use. I also noticed that there are no zippered pockets, which is something you get used to in a winter coat.

If you try and put your purse over your head the hood is too cumbersome to try and get the purse strap under it. There should be a snap to close the hood so its easier to maneuver or better yet a collar so the purse strap can sit behind the collar, in front of the hood.

Q: How do you handle the drawstring string sticking out and getting in the way. I see that other brands have a tiny hook to attach it to. It is a very wirey drawstring, stiff and it sticks out.
