Helly Hansen Workwear Men's Chelsea Evolution Waterproof Shell Jacket

Jacket is weather tight and breathable. I use it as a barrier to all kinds of weather conditions. I can meet use it as a shell on warmer days and as a winter shell on colder days. Very versatile jacket. Well worth the price tag.

Bought this jacket a few weeks back on sale after getting soaked in Squamish. Have had it out in rain and wind and it worked a treat. Fits with lots of room to layer up underneath (6'3", 270Lbs, wear XXL). The only thing i wish is that the hood tucked in to the collar, detaching is nice but where to keep it when it's not attached? Will be interested to see how it wears.

I needed a replacement for my ski coat. I've typically used goretex coats, but wanted to try this as it went on sale. At $400 this is an expensive shell that competes with other high performance shell's from MEC or North Face (closer to $500). It is a little pricy for me as a work coat. I use it as a ski/snowboard coat, and outdoor activities. First and foremost this is a shell, so no insulation whatsoever. I compared it to the similar winter coat and liked this one much better. It offers flexibility to add or take away layers. The GOOD The coat feels VERY sturdy. The shell is thick and feels like it could take a beating. its a stiffer feeling nylon like feel, almost like a canvas feel. The architecture is very good, its a relaxed fit and covers just below your waist. The zipper comes up nicely to cover your mouth if need be. The hood is excellent, and totally flexible. It clips on and off in no time. It'll cover your helmet or even adjust with 3 cords and work with nothing on your head with a small beak (10/10 hood). The overall feel of the coat is very nice and simple. The pin stripes and hood make sure you get seen if you're walking your dog. There's no insulation whatsoever, so be aware if its cold you'll need layers. That being said 2 months in it completely blocks wind/snow/rain. The meh: It has under arm vents to open, and breaths better then a rain coat, but for an extra $100 you could get a goretex coat that would breath better if you're working up a sweat. If im working hard on the hill i need to do a lot of zipping and unzippipng. The zippers are also not as high quality feeling as my rain-proof zippers, but it it is classified as a work coat, so maybe they're tougher. There is a flap that closes over, but my other coats with the rainproof zippers don't need the flap, so a little cleaner looking. There are sufficient pockets, I'd love a small one on the sleeve for kleenex or a proximity card

I bought it online and had it shipped to a closer Mark's store. Really no complaint about the whole service, it was quick and people in the store were nice even if very busy. The jacket fit me just fine (I'm usually wearing M, but thanks to indications online I ordered a S one). The only one big issue is the hood, which covered me the entire head. Impossible to wear without a bike or construction helmet. I totally get this a line of work wear... but the hood didn't look that big at all on the pictures.
