This Helly Hansen Workwear Mandal rain jacket is PVC coated to keep moisture on the outside. The waterproof jacket has a storm flap to prevent rain from blowing in through the front closure, and the hood can be adjusted with a drawcord to keep it from blowing off when the wind picks up. Two flap-close pockets at the front make it easy to keep small items at your fingertips when you’re on the go. Rob is 6’2” tall and he is wearing this rain jacket in size Large.

Basic old school rain protection

These rain jackets are good old school rain protection. They are stiffer and heavier than the lighter breathable ones. They will keep you from getting wet out in the rain as long as you’re not engaging in any physical activities that will cause you to overheat. Then you will become wet and clammy from perspiration on the inside, because they don’t breathe like some of the newer rain protection products. I haven’t found any of the high priced breathable lightweight rainwear that work that well in all situations either. I bought it to replace a similar one that I’ve been using for twenty years. I find you need both types ( lightweight breathable and heavy non breathable) on hand, depending on your degree activity on that day.
