I have worn many keens , and only keens for many years now . The Ravine was my favorite model by a significant margin. The back strap definitely made the difference in having just the right fit, especially as my feet and shoe adjusted over time. Way better than standard Newport. So sad they’re discontinued! I never had any of the problems w the blackstrap that I see in these reviews. Also it doesn’t look as chunky as the Newport, etc, but has all the benefits. The only issue I had was that after a couple years of daily 3 full -season use , the strap was stretching to be too long to Velcro quite as snugly as I wanted. Don’t give up on the Ravine !

These pairs fit on me so well! I wish I could have different colors. I don't use back straps. Just slip on and off. Very convenient and comfortable all day long.

I don't use the belts. Using these as a pair of slipper. Slipping on and off so convenient. Extremely comfortable and the BEST sandals ever! I wants to have them in different colors. Especially RED!!

LOVE BACK ENTRY VELCRO STRAP

Gentle shoe for toe issues. Easy-on-toes, straight, slide-in entry from the shoe back with Velcro strap that ultimately gives the shoe a secure back, a secure fit over the top of the foot and is no-fumbling easy-to-fasten. Strapping design over the toes and ball, safely encloses those foot areas while giving a sporty sandal look. Wish those who negatively review the Velcro back would shop the 1000’s of available shoe styles with other back strap options.

These are exactly what I wanted - great fit, Velcro stays securely in place over uneven surfaces, lots of room and protection for my toes, cool, can be used in wet and muddy conditions. Arch support is not as high as Birkenstocks but still works well.

Q: Are the straps adjustable for gout prone feet?

A: Back strap is adjustable as well as a certain amount on the instep. I have a high instep and find it a bit snug. Lots of width in the toe is nice. I wish I had ordered a half size larger.
