Too long and thin material

I bought the same size and length of these as I have been buying of other brands. The waist fits perfectly but the length is way too long, longer than the other brands of the same size. Even with my boots on the pants drag the ground. The tags had the sizes that I ordered on them so it's not that someone sent the wrong size. The zipper is far superior to any of the other brands; it is very smooth working and locks like it should because it does not get buried under the belt which makes it difficult to lock or unlock. I purchased these because the other brands were wearing out too fast for what I paid. I noted how thin the material was and was hoping these would be thicker. I've been wearing denim jeans for 60 years and remember when the material was thicker and wore longer. The material in these is no thicker than any of the other brands I own. I'm going to wash them in cold and tumble dry to see if they fit better. If they don't, I'll try warm then hot if needed. What can it hurt, the already don't fit.
