What's with the zipper

This is my third pair of 315 jeans in the last two years. They all fit perfectly. I recently loat some weight and went from a size 20M to an 18M. I love theae jeans. However, the pair I just bought, unlike the previous two pairs, does not have a locking zipper. I wore them once and the zipper conatantly came down. I checked them against the other pairs, which both had locking zippers. Once I lock them, I can't evwn push them down withy finger, but the new pair won't lock, and the zippera juat goes right down. Pretty embarassing. What gives?
