Fabric or dye defect

I was so excited about these pants. The color is beautiful, the fabric was absolutely dreamy, and they were incredibly comfortable. Unfortunately, after just one wash, one pant leg developed large blotchy, faded-looking patches while the other leg remained completely normal. They were washed according to the care instructions, so this was a huge disappointment.. It’s such a shame because, if not for what appears to be a fabric or dye defect, these would have been the perfect pair of pants. Before laundry day, they were a solid 5 stars. After one wash, not so much.
