Terra Men's Gantry 6 Inch Composite Toe Composite Plate Waterproof Work Boots

I work in safety consultanting and needed a good boot for job sites and industrial settings. I am glad to be able to lead by example with a great all around boot. The safety features are impressive. They are very comfortable but a little heavy and run big in size. So far they are very durable and keep my feet dry and safe in Western Colorado climate.

I can't attest to the longevity of this boot having just recently acquiring it. They are on the heavy side but I believe that appears to be more due to the seemingly rugged vibram sole rather than the toe. So potentially be prepared for leg fatigue while getting used to them. So far the one glaring flaw is that there's no pull loop on the back. Even if they had put a fabric one on the back, it would have been better than the current nothingburger. I knew this before buying them. The waterproofing appears to be top notch. There is some breaking in still to be done as I'm not wearing them everyday. I'm gradually working them in but they are far from the worst boot that I've ever encountered for this. The first time I wore them, I went out shoveling snow for 2 hours. I came back in and my feet were fine. They were warm the whole time shoveling. I don't think they will be excruciating for anyone trying to break in this boot. There might be some minor growing pains as they also aren't "right out of the box magic" for your feet. The toe box is nice and more spacious compared to similar models of different branded boots . They run a little big. If you're one of those people where you buy a 9.5 because you're a true 9 to make it work for a little more comfort and space, a 9 will likely be fine since they're a little longer and have the wider toe box. They are surprisingly warm for not being equipped with insulation. They might not be great for outdoor summer work for a lot of people as they run warmer than expected. If you have a foot sweat problem, and you work outdoors in the summer, you'll likely have to have a different summer pair. Like one commenter said, your feet may even be too warm indoors with these. Not sure though as the foot hotness indoors has only been mild-moderate for me as long as I don't wear thick socks. It also depends on your movement. If you have a job where you have to to put in 20,000 to 30,000 steps in these indoors, they may not be for you.
