Love the look and weight, but the break-in period

I’ve been wearing the Timberland PRO Men’s Radius Composite Toe boots for two weeks now, and I have mixed feelings. On the plus side, they look super nice—more like a hiking boot than a typical work boot—and they’re incredibly light. That part has been a huge win for me. However, the break-in process has been rough. My ankle bones and the surrounding area became very tender and sore. For the first week, I had to wear them extremely loose around the ankle, just to get through the day. Even then, I ended up with heel blisters. Also, despite being labeled a wide boot, they feel fairly tight in the toe box—my toes feel squished. I’m hoping they stretch out with more wear. Overall, I really want to like these boots. The look and lightweight feel are great. I just hope the comfort catches up soon.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I recently purchased these and after about 4 hours of wear my feet were killing me. Verry narrow toe for a “wide” boot.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great Boots when used as designed

These boots have been excellent for the purpose they were designed for: industrial warehouse and light duty construction work. Who buys these thinking they’re appropriate for Concrete work or heavy duty Construction? They don’t LOOK like they’re made for that, yet guys leave reviews of beat up boots and they act all surprised and disappointed the boots didn’t last. Would these guys use a Ford Maverick to haul 10,000 pounds and complain the truck can’t handle it, or would they use a HD Truck designed for the job?

Yes, I recommend this product.

Comfortable crap

Comfy but foam started breaking after 2 months. Sole separation after 3 months. Best for a warehouse manager who doesn’t work hard. Not for trades guys!

Questions

Q: Is it good for snow/winter?

1 Answer
  • A: The Radius mid is not insulated, so might not be a good choice for very snowy or cold environments. You can look at our Pac Max for a serious winter boot!
