My daily as a farmer and landscaper

I'm buying a new pair after over 2 years of wearing them all spring/summer/fall as a landscaper and farmer. These are my go to boots, the leather does need to be taken care of (oiled regularly) so it doesn't dry out and crack (like with all leather boots) and truthfully I do us the toe as a little hammer more often that I should... So the fabric on the toe has ripped over time, but that's not exactly the boots fault. They are light weight, so good for bending down and working crouched over, not bulky, so they "move with you" rather then it feeling like your walking around in winter boots like some work boots. I'll keep wearing my old once for dirty work, because they are still in wearable shape, they've just ripped on some of the seems and the sol is falling apart in the arch. I do recommend getting better insoles and replacing them every 5-6 months, it makes a big difference.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Do NOT buy these boots

Purchased these boots thinking they would be a good quality leather boot. I wore them for a total of 4 days as a plumber on a construction site and the steel toe was already exposed on one of the boots. The boots look like they’re 6 months old after 4 days. There is basically no support around the ankle and I was rolling my ankle way more often than in any other boot. They’re also very uncomfortable at the toe and heel but that could’ve just been the breaking in process. Not only that - now I can’t even return them because they’ve been worn. I tried the 30 day “comfort guarantee” by Timberland but by the time I called and finally got an email with return information the email said I have only 5 days to return the boots since first opening up the claim. Needless to say I didn’t even see that email until a week later. Now I’m stuck with the worst work boots I’ve ever tried. This is coming from a Red Seal Plumber in Canada who has been plumbing for 6 years. What is the point of not being able to return a work boot without trying it first? Do not buy.

No, I do not recommend this product.

NOT AS ADVERTISED

I can't say whether these are worthwhile or not as I had to return them immediately as they were not as advertised (composite toe and plate) and had alloy toe.

Quality is very low- fabric started falling apart

At first the were very comfortable but I soon realized that there is no ankle support. Walking on uneven terrain is definitely a hazard in terms of twisting an ankle. I wore them everyday to work for 1 month and the fabric started ripping away from the steel toe . Luckily I was able to return them and get something else

Best choice for landscaping

I've worked in landscaping for 10 years now, and it's been a regular occurrence that I would need to replace my boots every 1.5 years. Maybe 2. I bought these boots in October, 2020, and it is now April 2024, and they are still hanging on. I have a feeling that the sole will bust through any day now, and want to be prepared, so I'm buying a new pair soon, just to have on hand. I work outdoors on rough terrain, during all weather, from April to the first week of December. Lots of work boots (especially women's) are meant for indoor work on factory floors, which is why they fall apart so fast. It's also difficult to find ones that are waterproof. I also love the high tops that lace up, which support my ankle, and have prevented injury. Some tips on how to make these last longer: - Clean and hydrate them with a shoe balm meant for leather. Helps prevent cracking. - Spray them with a waterproofing boot spray. - When you start to see peeling happen from the stress point where your toes bend, use Shoe Glue to fill in those gaps and help keep it together. Your books will look ugly, but who cares. They're work boots. I also use it on the place where the leather wore away on the toe, and the metal is showing. FYI, I didn't have to start doing this until my 3rd year wearing them. When it comes to comfort, I'd say they are on par with every other average work boot out there. I've for sure had worse. The leather did expand out on the sides, and form to my feet, which is nice. I also always go half a size up with work boots for many reasons. Feet swelling, room for thicker socks when it's cold, room for an insole for extra comfort, ect. The only downside to this is the back of the boot rubbed against my heel really badly. But I feel like that's normal for any new boot being broken in. So remember to use moleskin people! It's an easy fix. The laces also broke sometime last year, but again, it's a cheap and easy fix.

Awesome work booth

So light and comfortable I wear them even if I’m not going to a construction site! The sizing works slightly larger, so go half a size down. Otherwise, awesome shoe!
