Decent replacement for my Merrell Moab hiking shoe

I bought these as my Merrell Moabs were giving up the ghost and their price wasn't coming down. I saw these as a reasonable knock-off brand. The shoe width was "regular" and I normally buy a wide. I also use orthotics. I took the insole out and put my orthotics in. No problem. The shoe was initially a bit stiff but has over time (about 3.5 weeks now) has become more comfortable. They do feel sturdy. There were a couple of pressure points, but these to have "worn in" and no longer an issue. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase as I do not want to spend over $100 for a pair of hiking/walking shoes. I feel overall, these were a good purchase and would recommend them to someone looking at a replacement for their Merrell hiking shoes.

Sizing issues

Incredibly tight for their size. They feel almost a full size smaller then what they are labelled as. Definitely a try them on in store purchasing and find what you want, don't online order them. They DO NOT follow industry standard sizing.

Great at first but not after 3 months

These shoes were grate at first, but after three months, the soles started separating from the shoe. These shoes are definitely not made for hiking. Too bad, I really liked them

Slippery on Ice

I still have a very similar pair of WindRiver hiking shoes, about 8 years old. This shoe is very durable, but the Tarantula-grip sole is much more treacherous on ice than the older pair. Not suitable for winter!
