Carhart heavyweight vs Alpaca

I decided to get myself some good cold weather socks for the many hockey games that I attend. I bought this 4 pack and immediately realized I should have bought quality socks long ago. With all the hype on Alpaca socks, I decided to buy a two pack. Sure makes for a great comparison! I paid about the same money, four pack versus two pack. The Alpaca socks are very soft and warm, they're great. The Carhartt socks are also nice and warm, maybe not quite as soft, but I think they feel a little more firm . The most important difference is the washing and drying. Alpaca socks recommend hand wash and air dry to increase their life. Not the case with the Carhartt. It said Baby Alpaca on the toes and this came off after the first machine wash. This comparison wasn't really fair. Same money, 4 vs 2, machine wash vs hand wash. Their both great socks, but I'll just get the Carhartt next time. This 4 pack is a great deal!!

Fit perfect, foot is 12.5, some shoes 13.
