Well made rain coat with no fanciness. Excellent material, zipper pockets, hood fits well without hindering your view, inside mesh everywhere (body and sleeves) to prevent sticking to skin. No inside pocket. No open or zipping vents. Very well made clips to tie hood cord.

After being disappointed with and returning rain jackets from a couple other well known outdoor apparel companies, I decided to order the Men's Hikebound Rain Jacket from Columbia. It turned out the sizing guide was right on the money for my 6'5",190 lb body. It recommended a Standard Large size, but I was skeptical the sleeve length wouldn't be long enough which the size guide didn't address, so I ordered the XL to be sure. The XL was too big in both the body and the sleeve length, even for my long arms. My advice is go with the sizing guide that lets you put in your height and weight. Very pleased with the fit and quality and recommend.

Kept me dry in torrential downpour

I bought this jacket for extended hiking and dog walking in the rain. It keeps me perfectly dry even in heavy downpours. You’ll probably want rain pants too if it’s that bad. I love that the hood that stays in place when I quickly pop it up. If it’s really windy, it cinches even tighter with a simple pull of the drawstrings for better coverage. Extra long sleeves with Velcro straps help keep wind and rain from running up my arms even when I’m lifting them overhead setting up camp.
Small Velcro strips keep the flap over the zipper closed to any wind and rain for added protection. I worry about the durability of the Velcro, but so far, so good.

The look and utility are awesome. Zippered and waterproof pockets including a breast pocket are essential, especially for carrying around things like keys, and a cell phone. It's got a mesh inside to wick away sweat in the summer, but you can also layer under it in the winter to keep warm and dry. Columbia is one of the top brands in the industry and you cannot go wrong with this jacket. In fact, you will love it! PS.
