So warm!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket kept me warm and dry in Iceland winter! We went around the Golden Circle from heavy rain, to sleet and high winds, to snow, and the whole time I felt cozy warm. I was worried I would have to switch to a rain shell but this worked great! The one thing I would say is for rain, take the faux fur off. Luckily it is removable! This coat is so worth it, especially for adventurers, and funny enough I saw another person with my same coat out and about.

Excellent craftsmanship

The materials are excellent; every seam and every detail is really well done. It is still a bit heavy for me, but I understand the trade-off for good insulation. The two pairs of pockets provide plenty of storage, and the fur trim is removable. I also liked the detail on the zipper; I hope it lasts a long time.

Lining feels Mylar

The thermal lining is presented as a Mylar lining so it’s quite slippery and cold to the touch.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Parka

I’ve worn this parka for two full winters, and overall it’s been a decent coat. It’s long and provides great coverage, which I really appreciate on cold days. The hood is excellent in blowing snow, and I like that the fur trim is removable depending on the weather or your preference. That said, it does have some downsides. When temperatures drop to around -25°C, I notice that my arms get quite cold, so it doesn’t hold up as well in extreme cold as I’d hoped. The pocket material has also started to pill and wear down after two seasons, which is disappointing in terms of durability. It’s been a good coat for moderate winter weather, but because of the arm insulation and wear issues, I’ll be looking to purchase a new one next year, from a different brand :(

Questions

1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: What is the warmth rating?

1 Answer
  • A: Thank you for your question regarding the Columbia Women's Little Si II Omni-Heat™ Insulated Omni-Tech™ Insulated Parka. Columbia doesn't typically temperature rate their products as individual comfort can vary too much. This is a well-insulated parka built for comfort in cold conditions and includes waterproof-breathable protection, synthetic insulation, and Columbia's Omni-Heat™ thermal-reflective lining. We like to think of our jackets as falling into the Warm - Warmer - Warmest categories and would consider this style to be "Warmest". Hope that helps!
