501 sizing inconsistent

I have purchased multiple pairs of 501s in the past few years. Typically 33x32, these were much larger in the legs (much looser) and the butt. What up Levi’s?

Buttons unhandy

This is the second pair I mistakenly chose jeans that button down the front. We are old and husband cannot button. He even struggles with button at waist in zippered jeans. I take ir for granted there will be a zipper. Cannot return because I did not save package info. Everything would be fine with zipper.
