Drop in quality?

While I have to return this particular pair, no fault of the shoe, I did find that the insole was not as thick as other pairs I have purchased in the past. I truly hope that Merrell hasn't decided to cut comfort for profit. They are known for a quality product so I don't mind paying more for them but that could change if this is the case. Normally I would give them 5 stars.

Comfortable but lacing design needs to be better

I like the shoe (a little stiff, but still comfortable). What I am disappointed in is the lacing system - it needs to be better. Within 6 months of wearing, the fabric loops (these need to be more durable) holding the laces in place have torn. The laces are no longer held in place and as a result the foot is no longer supported.

Great shoes, no box

Love the shoes but I ordered online and there was no box. Annoying because they are for a Christmas gift and they look like they came from a discount store, not the way Merrell shoes should be received.

Q: Does the shoe actually keep your feet dry? The mesh on top looks like it would be useless in the rain. (I have a pair of "waterproof" skechers that aren't because of a similar mesh. Great for puddles, but if the rain is coming down, there's no protection
