Great shoes, no box

Love the shoes but I ordered online and there was no box. Annoying because they are for a Christmas gift and they look like they came from a discount store, not the way Merrell shoes should be received.

These are my fourth pair of Merrell Alverstone Hiking Shoes. I walk miles a day and cover road, gravel, mud, every surface you can imagine. These shoes give me constant pleasure, comfortable, sturdy, water resistant, the colour of mud and last, but not least, provide confidence in their sturdiness and endurance.

Q: Does the shoe actually keep your feet dry? The mesh on top looks like it would be useless in the rain. (I have a pair of "waterproof" skechers that aren't because of a similar mesh. Great for puddles, but if the rain is coming down, there's no protection
