Levi's Men's Arctic Cloth 4 Pocket Waterproof-Breathable Insulated Hooded Parka Jacket

After years of wearing canvas work jackets, usually layered with a hoodie, a decided it was finally time to get a real winter coat. And it turns out, I LOVE this one! It took a little getting used to the puffiness, but that's just me, not the coat. It's a great fit, good pockets, and an amazing hood. Ive got a large head, and I find a lot of hoods are either too small, or poorly made so that they wind up pointy. The coat is actually fairly breathable. I wore it for a long car ride and was comfortable until right near the end (and only found out later the heated seat was on, and set to max the whole time, so I think I would have been comdortable the whole way otherwise). VERY warm. I spent time outside in Ottawa, in January, at night, with not even a hint of coldness. There are only two, or two-and-a-half, issues I have that could make this coat perfect: 1) On the inside of the coat, up near the neck, there's the expected brand tag. Well, for some reason Levi's sewed a large black tag on, and then sewed a second, Levi's, tag on top of that. Because they're stitched, instead of ironed on or directly printed onto the lining, they have edges and corners that are super itchy. I'm waiting to see if they break in, or if I'm going to have to pop the stitches and remove them. 2) When the coat is fully zipped up, it comes up beyond your neck, covering your chin or even part of your mouth. The problem is, that material gets cold! Had they put some fleece or some other softer material on that top part (which I guess would be lapels if the coat is open), it would be much more comforable. But this is easily solvable by wearing a scarf. The half a problem: while I've already said it has an amazing hood, the hood can also be a bit... much when it's down. Especially when driving. I sort of wish the hood was removable, but I also don't see how they could do that without changing the entire design of the coat. Since I wouldn't have bought this if it didm't have a hood, I can't actually complain that the hood is there. I bought this on sale, but having owmed it, I would recommend it even at full price.
