Saucony Men's Excursion TR15 Trail Running Shoes

Used them for many years, fit is always the same.

Fit great and look great.

I first had bought a pair of Saucony "Grid" runners at a Big 5 Sporting Goods store in Burlington several years ago. When I first tried them on they were like "wow" comfortable. But what I didn't realize was how fantastic they were were walking /hiking as if they energized my footsteps with my foot position in the shoe. I only realized that after doing a short walk in an older pair of Skechers I had used but that were actually exhausting to wear. Sounds odd, but that's the best way I can describe the experience. Well after 3 seasons of a lot more walking/hiking using them where I'd sometimes use my hiking boots they are still in good shape. Very durable as well. We are heading back to Italy this year and Marks had some Saucony Excursion TR15's on sale so in checking them out they felt the same as the grids with some slight build differences which I think are an improvement. My Grid's are still in good shape though thread has worn down significantly over 3 yrs of constant wearing so I bought the Excursions and have worn them to "Break them in" a couple times for our Italy trip which will have a lot of walking/hiking in the Cinque Terre. They are every bit as good if not better and I am saving them for the trip. Best shoe for me!

Unfortunately to narrow, did not have a wide size. I still love this brand. The lady working was very nice and helpful.

Awesome fitting runner. Very good on my feet. However, did we run out of rubber?! The tread seems to be made of a Plastic product. I have always had good shoes and never had a slipping problem with the tread. Very dangerous and slippery in wet conditions. These runners have a very nice aggressive tread but the material the tread is made of causes these runners to lose grip. Hence the reason for 3 stars. I would like to know when and if they change to rubber again. I won't purchase these again until they do!
