Pros: Light, good grip, easy to put on
Cons: Winter boots just need to stay dry on the inside - these don't! They are always soaked right through and need to be put on the boot drier EVERYDAY. The shaft is not waterproof and the snow soaks right through; in addition the shaft is very soft, flexible, and rather short so they
end up full of snow.
These would be fine if you are just walking around in a very small amount of snow (like a couple inches) otherwise I don't recommend.

Warm but not waterproof.

They seem warm enough but they are not waterproof and my kids feet get soaked from playing out in the snow. Sadly if I'd known this ahead of time I would not have bought them. Very disappointing.

Not worth the sale price

These boots are terrible. I was excited at getting them on a good sale, but they are not even worth the sale price. The inner portion of the boot has ripped free of the outer shell in both. They are constantly wet when my son gets home from school. This was the case within a month of wearing them.

Q: Hi Do you need to put felts inside the boot to keep feet warm. Felts are those that you can take out of the boot and dry them when wet.

A: Hello - You do not need to add a felt insole no. But if there is room, you certainly can. A felt insole will add some degree of warmth as well as give you the option to pull out and dry overnight yes. - Karlie

A: Thanks for reaching out. No this is a kids boot. Preschool/Youth sizing: 10, 11, 12, 13, 1, 2, 3, 4. Full sizes only. A size 4 would be equal to a ladies 6 approximately.

A: Thanks for reaching out. These boots come in a size 10-4. Preschool into youth sizing. 10, 11, 12, 13, 1, 2, 3, 4 A size 4 is pretty much equal to a ladies size 6. I am not able to paste a chart in here, so I hope that helps. 10-13 is around ages 4-6 and -1-4 years is around ages 7-10 years. Having said that, all kids grow very differently so best to try on if possible.

Q: How many snowflake rating does this wind river boots for kids have?

A: Thanks for reaching out. There is no protocol yet to test the kids boots for a snowflake rating yet. But they are tested at the Satra lab and do pass our standards for anti-slip on ice. Our standard is to dual test all ICEFX product at both facilities. We hope they will have a testing protocol in the near future but for now they do meet the standards at the other lab. Hope that answers your question as best as possible.

A: Thanks for reaching out. The Golden boot is insulated with 200g of our T-max insulation as well as has and Aerogel footbed. These boots are rated at -30 to -40 degrees Celsius. They are waterproof to the top of the shell. The rest of the upper is only water resistant. Hope that helps.
